Specchiasol was established in 1973 by its founder Giuseppe Maria Ricchiuto, who is the current president of the Specchiasol group. At that time it was impossible to foresee the future developments that have since occurred in the field of natural therapies, but even back then, there was dedication to the idea of plant therapies and expert business intuition which, together, would provide fertile soil for the development of the company. Giuseppe Maria Ricchiuto was given an honorary degree in Pharmacy Studies, in recognition of his promotion and development of plant therapy culture in Italy and Europe where it has now been elevated to the stature of a science.
Today Specchiasol is a group leader in the Italian plant therapy field and operates in the natural world by uniting its traditions to high level technology and scientific research. The Specchiasol Group is composed of the following elements:

THE CYCLE OF PRODUCTION
Harvesting
The San Demetrio Farms are at the heart of Specchiasol's production processes. Located in the town of Specchia in the province of Lecce, San Demetrio covers a surface area of 100 hectares where thirty different species of medicinal herbs are cultivated in clayey soil that is considered particularly adapt for these types of crops. There is also the botanical laboratory which selects and experiments on medicinal herbs before they are cultivated in order to test their potential and maximize their quality.
Quality Control
The quality of our products is ensured by the many and complex system of tests that take place during every phase of production, using sophisticated treatment methodologies and avant-garde testing instrumentation for continuous monitoring. Thus, throughout every phase, the already highly set standards of quality are maintained.
